Opened in 2018, the Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas is the first West Coast outpost of the legendary Greenwich Village landmark. The venue is a meticulous replica of the New York original, complete with iconic brick walls, a low-lit basement vibe, and the signature stained-glass stage backdrop. Situated within the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino just off the Strip, the room provides an intimate setting that captures the grit and energy of the Manhattan comedy scene. The club utilizes a signature showcase format, presenting a rotating cast of five headliner-level comedians who each perform high-energy sets. This approach has defined the brand for decades, having helped launch the careers of icons such as Dave Chappelle, Jon Stewart, and Amy Schumer. Today, the Vegas stage features top-tier talent like Mo Amer and Jessica Kirson, often hosting unannounced surprise sets from world-famous stars who stop by to test new material.
